I cant decide on the name-will u help me?
Well mommy love both a good prawn cocktail & russain salad ,thought i d combine both the heavy weights into one.
Couldn find a couple of ingredients, but what ,i was on!!!
Its such a festive time, ofcourse its the holiday season with a frenzy of shopping and baking but there's so much more happenning in goa.
The iffi 2009(international film festival) wound up on 3rd with a grand closing, the same day as the famous feast,St.FRancis Xavier, which draws in lakhs of locals & tourists alike ,every year during this 10 day period.
Old Goa,indeed has an old goan charm to it,The muesam ,the basilica ,the beautiful roads and more famous for housing the body of St.Francis Xavier, the Holy Mass celebrations are actually relayed on local goan television like GOA365 & HCN.
What i really would love are going full on at the local goan food stalls and a good sausage bread makes my day-oh my mom makes a far yummier sausage bread but yet i have the excitement running in my viens to eat one there...gorgeous...the feel that i popped in one at the fair!!!!
And what i love to carry back home are the varied sugar sweets (sorry no pics but will try to post 'em soon)
Now to the iffi, same strech of days, but the capital of goa, panjim, wears an absolutely festive look...the iffi street transforms & the red carpet area look fairy with all the lites shining thru,a perfect contrast of the twinkling yellow lites on the red carpets galore!!!!
Oh thefood stalls here are gorgeous too,a great walk around, makes me hungrier by the min. Theres actually a hot dog counter(they have a counter at the INOX(multiplex),food court-good eats out there too!!!
And a few indian kebabs corners & oh how can i miss out on the chats...
Best of all is the 'gola' stall which like a sweet icicle or popsicle.....love the expierience....AND COZ I LOVE 'EM ,the other day,my little bro called me up,to say he had a 'little' suprise for me and i knew this was going to be exciting & thank God i was home(baking ),well he absolutely cutely brought me 2 'golas' with the sweet juice in 2 of his little water bottles & the crushed ice with the stick in,in the shape of the lolly in disposable glass,in a little bag and that day to our hearts delight i enjoyed a 'gola' right there in my kitchen, enjoying with my other best love-baking.....thank u little one!!!!!
And love THAT nice corner actually depecting the carnival in goa ,complete with the 'carnival king' posing with all for a cute pic.....oh love the goan architecture cut outs too.....evry little details is ectched in here....
I missed clicking pics coz i dont have a digi cam(but my family is researching on one for me noticing my new found enthusiasm for photography-Its been a year of gorgeous gifts really)
